Low Tide at Begha
I shed my clothes and take a morning swim then walk some way in the sun, naked and clean.
The tide recedes, leaving open
clean firm sand and empty beach
here and there exposing the black reefs of shiny rocks.
The beach remembers itself at low tide, reveals its naked essence.
Because the tide will turn again, and roil and claw over these rocks.
This beach will seem then only swells and breakers.
Then low tide will bring once more
Forgiveness for forgetting.
